Kate Hughes is a Certified Rolfer and movement practitioner who is focused on creating ease, safety, agency within the bodies of her clients. Kate draws on her background in somatic movement, yoga therapeutics, meditation, Polyvagal Theory, Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, and Crisis Stabilization and Safety to create a safe and welcoming environment for all people. Whether looking for support in finding relief from chronic pain, seeking a more erect posture, wanting to enhance athletic performance, or wanting to find a deeper mind-body connection, Kate supports clients along their journey toward health and well-being.
Kate works through hands-on manual therapy, combined with gentle movement education to assist in building new neural pathways. Instead of forcing the body into submission, Kate approaches this work with curiosity and care to find ease of movement and increased capacity for each of her clients. Kate also believes people are not just their tissue or their aches and pains. Each client is a unique person with a complex story to tell. Illness, injury, life experience, trauma, beliefs, relationships and resources all play a role in how the physical structure functions in the world. All of these factors can have an impact on the level of integration throughout the whole human. Each client is a collaborative partner as we work to bring their system into alignment, ease and regulation.
